At Sanford, teachers and students are easily accessible to each
other. An honest and caring friendship between adults and students
is an educational goal in itself. Teachers respond to young people
deeply, knowledgeably, and personally. By making themselves available
to parents, teachers enter a partnership which benefits each student.
The faculty's ultimate aims for each student are to develop intellectual
and imaginative potential, to encourage a productive and humane
life within the campus community, and to prepare students for
the demands and responsibilities of life. This ideal was formulated
in 1930, and our enthusiasm for it is undiminished after seven
decades of experience.
