Extended Day and Summer Programs

Sanford cares for your child before school, after school, during holidays & during vacations

Early morning drop off - Lower School students report to the Lower School Library after 7:15 a.m.for coloring, reading, and quiet play activities before morning recess.  Middle School students report to the Middle School Library after 7:00 a.m.  There is no extra charge for early morning drop-offs.

After school care begins at 2:45 p.m., when members of the Extended Day staff escort children in JK through 4th grade to their grade level extended day classrooms.

In addition to air-conditioned classrooms, there is a full-sized gymnasium, computer lab, kitchen, and indoor play castle. The extended day facility is located in the lower level of Geipel gymnasium, next to the Lower School playground and athletic field. Please note that Sanford's Extended Day area has a peanut free policy.

After school activities may be coordinated with an extended day schedule:

5th–8th Grade

Students in grades 5–8 meet in the spacious Middle School Library, an ideal setting for engaging in supervised homework sessions, reading, using the computers, playing games and socializing with peers. The library is in close proximity to athletic fields and the Sanford Sports Center.

HOLIDAYS & VACATION DAYS AT SANFORD:

Swimming in the Sanford pool during those last few days of summer, painting posters for homecoming, making birdhouses in September, carving pumpkins for a special Halloween display, making holiday ornaments, cooking alphabet soup, ping-pong, basketball, wii, ring toss, and outside play are just some of the activities students do during holidays and vacations — for no extra charge.  Our Extended Day  staff is committed to making those school holidays extra special days for your child.

Every member of the staff brings special talents and interests to the program.  They know the children well and enjoy interacting with them.
