Investing in Your Child
Academic Year 2011-2012
Few investments are as valuable as the one you make in your child’s education.
2011-2012 TUITION
Tuition covers a large portion of the costs associated with providing such a rich experience as the one your child will enjoy at Sanford, but it does not cover them all; annual giving, endowment income, and foundation gifts cover the balance.

ADDITIONAL COSTS
Middle and Upper School students purchase their own books, while Lower School students pay an Instructional Materials Fee. Middle School class trips, yearbook, AP exams, and art supplies are billed separately. Sanford offers an Extended Day Program for students in Grades K – 8, for which there is an additional charge. Students in Grades 1–12 who wish to purchase items from Sanford's dining hall may set up an account with CulinArt, our food service provider.
PAYMENT PLANS
Sanford offers several payment plan options to help families fit the benefits of Sanford into their budgets. All tuition payment plans are managed by Tuition Management Systems (TMS). Sanford requires a non-refundable Enrollment Deposit, payable with the return of a signed Enrollment Agreement, of $1,000 or 10% of Net Tuition, whichever is less. The Enrollment Deposit is credited to the Net Tuition.
- One Installment Plan: Pay 100% by August 1.
- Two Installment Plan: 66% due August 1 and 34% due January 1
- 10- and 12-Installment Payment Plans: Pay in ten or twelve installments, starting in May. The final installment is due in February for the 10-month plan and in April for the 12-month plan. TMS charges an Enrollment Fee of $150 for the first child and $40 for subsequent children, but there are no interest charges. Families selecting these plans will be required to participate in the Tuition Refund Insurance Plan at a cost of 1.8% of Net Tuition.
