Emergency Closing Information
Please do not call the school during an emergency unless you are:
- Unable to pick up your child
- Authorizing someone not on your pick up list to pick up your child.
How to receive School closing information:
The decision to CLOSE school will be made by 6am, or if school is CLOSING DURING SCHOOL HOURS, you can receive information in the following ways:
1. Call the Sanford School Emergency Hotline: 888-239-6785
Call the dedicated hotline for up-to-date information.
2. Log onto the Sanford website - www.sanfordschool.org:
The school closing information will be updated in the lower right corner on the Home page.
3. Tune into the following Radio/TV stations:
WDEL (1150 am) WSTW (93.7 fm) WPVI (TV 6, ABC)
4. Register your email at the State Emergency School Closing site:
Register your email address at the state site: http://phoenix.state.de.us/schoolclosing for instant email notification.
Or log on from the Sanford website under school closing.
5. Participate in the Middle School & Lower School Phone chains:
Phone chains will be provided by the Lower and Middle Schools and will
be used ONLY if an early dismissal is necessary or there are delays in a
field trip return.
