Ways of Giving
Below are the examples of the many giving options available to support Sanford School. While there are many ways to give to Sanford, the Annual Fund is our most important category. If you can only give one time, we suggest you make the Annual Fund your first priority.
We ask that all families do their best to participate in these fundraising efforts. There is no minimum donation to the Annual Fund or any Home and School event. You should choose a level of support that matches your family’s resources. Your child – and every child – will benefit directly from your donation. Make a Pledge to Support the Annual Fund
The Annual Fund campaign is one of the most important ways you can help Sanford meet its immediate needs. As with most other independent schools, tuition only covers approximately 90% of the school’s actual costs. Donations to the Annual Fund help bridge this gap and are vital to Sanford’s operations. Each September we ask parents, alumni, faculty and staff to pledge to the Annual Fund. When donating, you will be given the opportunity to make a donation in honor of or in memory of a teacher or staff member. Donate Now.
Increase your gift through your Company’s Matching Gift Program
An easy way to enhance your gift to the school is through a matching gift from your employer. Many corporations match employee gifts as well as retired employee donations. Your Human Resources office can provide you with details about your company's policy.
Make a Planned or Deferred Gift
There are excellent tax advantages to making a donation in the form of appreciated stock or property. The particular tax savings depend on individual circumstances and must be discussed with personal financial and tax advisors. Support Sanford by Attending and/or Volunteering at a Home and School Event
Sanford’s Home & School holds several events every year. All fundraising events benefit our school. Please support the school by attending or volunteering your time.
Give an Immediate Gift to Benefit Today’s Need
Immediate gifts to support Sanford come in many forms – from donating used books back to the school to be used in the classroom, to volunteering services, to donating flowers to the gardens. To find out more, please contact Karen Riordan, Director of Development at 302-239-5263.
Support our Capital Campaign
Unlike the Annual Fund, which needs to be replenished each year, capital campaigns are held less frequently. The contributions generated from a capital campaign are used to fund significant improvements to the schools facilities and to help build the school’s endowment. Currently, Sanford is not running a capital campaign.
