Sanford Students’ Artwork Exhibited in Kennett Square Show

Dozens of Sanford students' artworks were featured in the recent Kennett Square Student Art Show, held from April 29 through May 1 at the American Legion Building in Kennett Square.
The fourth annual event showcased the creativity and talent of local youth. Sanford artists’ works hung alongside pieces from students at the Kennett Consolidated School District, Unionville-Chadds Ford Schools, Avon Grove Schools, and Oxford Schools.

Sanford art teachers, including Nina Silverman and Betty O’Regan, selected pieces created by students in grades K–12. They included clay figures, African masks, self-portraits, and paintings done by Lower School artists; block prints, digital art, and masks created by Middle Schoolers; and drawings and digital paintings by Upper Schoolers.

The art show was intended to build community spirit as well as provide an opportunity to celebrate young artists. The exhibit opening featured a preview party and light refreshments, with many community members present, including the mayor, Borough Council, and local merchants as well as parents and the press.
