38 Sanford Students Named AP Scholars

Thirty-eight Sanford students have earned the designation of AP Scholar by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on college level Advanced Placement Program (AP) Exams.
Lily Allingham, Jessica Ip, and Leah Somerville were named National AP Scholars, receiving an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more exams.

Ten Sanford students, including National AP Scholars Allingham, Ip, and Somerville, received the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on five or more exams. The students are Ally Cornwall, Zoe LaMonte, Krystal Luo, Luke Oh, Miles Petersen, Rishi Sreekanth, and Elizabeth Vander Laan.

Six students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more exams. The students are: Jacob Dong, Christopher Keiser, Aaron Lafferty, Jacob Lafferty, Gladys Mbugua, and Noah Walsh.

Twenty-two students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by receiving scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams. The AP Scholars are: Paige Bobka, Ian Civiletti, Lindsay Colgan, Maddie Cooper,  Chloe DiCamillo, Sarah Filak, Leah Gimbutas, Tommy Harach, Taryn-Marie Jenkins, Claire Jester, Angela Kuczykowski, Hannah Lapoint, Connor Long, Nicholas Marcozzi, Amy Modi, Ali Rosenthal, Robert Stafford, James Steinberger, Zachary Stevenson, Shelby Ward, Lily Wiesnegger, and William Zimmer.

The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program offers students the opportunity to take challenging college–level courses while still in high school, and to receive college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP Exams. The exams are administered in May of each year.
