Broadway Performer Returns to Sanford

With the recent closing of Escape to Margaritaville, its female lead, Lisa Howard, decided to use some of her new-found free time to plan a return visit to Sanford School. This will mark the third time Howard has come to campus to share her talents with students by offering master classes in both acting and singing.
Clint Williams, chair of the performing arts department, is coordinating Howard’s December 2018 visit and will host her as a guest in his home. He shared: “What I love about Lisa Howard’s singing technique is that it is as close to perfect as you can find. She can sing anything and sound good at it. In addition to her near flawless execution of a song, she is a realistic and compelling actress.”

All students in performing arts classes had an opportunity to sign up for the sessions that Howard will be offering. Several of the leads in the upcoming SRTC winter musical, Beauty and the Beast, opted to take advantage of the opportunity to prepare for their roles with a singing lesson from Howard.
Other sessions include group acting lessons and coaching.

Williams continued: “Lisa will work with our students in a way that only an accomplished, working Broadway actress can. To have her once again on our campus interacting with our students is one of the great benefits of our school. She is a rare and special resource—a gem, in fact!”
