Seniors Sing their Way to All-State Recognition

In mid-November Smyrna High School and Smyrna Middle School hosted the All-State Chorus auditions. Each student was required to learn an audition song and perform it before a panel of judges, competing against “the best of the best” chorus students from the entire state. This year, Sanford Upper School seniors Katie Bruxelles, Chris Keiser, and Willilam Zimmer earned medals which designate them as All-State honorees.
On February 7 and 8 these students joined other all-staters for two days of rehearsals that preceded their concert, which was held at Mt. Pleasant High School. During the event, these talented students wore the many medals they have earned over the years. Additionally, Middle School seventh-grade students David Goodall '24 and Amelia Xu '24 were similarly recognized as members of this year’s Junior All-State Chorus.

Performing Arts Department Chair and Choir Director Clint Williams shared: “I am so proud of our Sanford students. The three seniors who represented our school at the Senior All-State Chorus have always placed well every year that they have auditioned. This year, each of them placed higher than ever before, which is a fitting way to end their Delaware All-State Chorus career.”
