40 Sanford Students Named AP Scholars

Forty Sanford students have earned the designation of AP Scholar by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on college-level Advanced Placement Program (AP) Exams.
Jessica Ip, Rishi Sreekanth, and Steven Xia were named National AP Scholars, receiving an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more exams.

Eleven Sanford students, including National AP Scholars Ip, Sreekanth, and Xia, received the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on five or more exams. The students are: Ian Civiletti, Chloe DiCamillo, Christopher Keiser, Aaron Lafferty, Jacob Lafferty, Hannah LaPoint, Zachary Stevenson, and Jiayi Wu.

Nine students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more exams. The students are: Patricia Donahue, Karen Fang, Gregory Fleming, Julia Hatoum, Brooke Hollander, Rohan Razdan, James Steinberger, Eleanor Vander Laan, and Jenna Warren.

Twenty students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by receiving scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams. The AP Scholars are: Evan Amendum, Owen Andreasen, Asia Blackwell, Margaret Bobka, Katherine Bruxelles, Skylar Flynn, Jonathan Fritz, Nithya Gadde, Gabriela Hunt, Taryn-Marie Jenkins, Grace Johnston, Ryan Johnston, Adam Kerzner, Phoebe LaPoint, Xieying Lei, Rileigh Owens, John Pelesko, Ali Rosenthal, Cameron Smith, and William Zimmer.

The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program offers students the opportunity to take challenging college-level courses while still in high school, and to receive college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP Exams. The exams are administered in May of each year.
