45 Sanford Students Named AP Scholars

Forty-five Sanford students have earned the designation of AP Scholar by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on college-level Advanced Placement Program (AP) Exams.
Gregory Fleming '20, Brooke Hollander '20, and Steven Xia '20 were named National AP Scholars, receiving an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more exams.

Twenty Sanford students, including National AP Scholars Fleming, Hollander, and Xia, received the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on five or more exams. The students are: Evan Amendum '20, Owen Andreasen '20, Asia Blackwell '20, Margaret Bobka '20, Emma Colby '21, Olivia Cross '20, Camille Decker '20, Reid Farmer '21, Jonathan Fritz '20, Julia Hatoum '20, Noah Hollander '21, Adam Kerzner '20, Rileigh Owens '20, Cameron Smith '20, Eleanor Vander Laan '20, Jenna Warren '20, and Jiayi Wu '20.

Six students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more exams. The students are: Alistair Bebbington '20, Andrew Bond '20, Karen Fang '20, Catherine Gluodenis '21, Ryan Johnston '20, and Savannah Shepherd '20.

Nineteen students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by receiving scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams. The AP Scholars are: Lillian Bachtle '20, Natalie Bianchi '20, Anne Christopher '20,  Olivia Cornwall '21, Noah Curland '21, Melissa Daniels '21, Lia Dougherty '21, Lili Dougherty '21, Bruno Gomez Martinez '20, Ananya Jain '21, Xieying Lei '20, Jordan Nashed '21, Albert Opher '21, Wyatt Seder-Burnaford '21, Charles Sykora '20, Zehua You '22, Samantha Young '21, Katherine Zabel '21, and Elizabeth Zimmer '21.

The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program offers students the opportunity to take challenging college-level courses while still in high school, and to receive college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP Exams. The exams are administered in May of each year.
