Sanford Students Named AP Scholars

Eighteen Sanford students have earned the designation of AP Scholar by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on college level Advanced Placement Program (AP) Exams.
Haris Nashed was named a National AP Scholar, receiving an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more exams. Haris also received AP Scholar with Distinction honors.

Eleven Sanford students, including National AP Scholar Haris Nashed, received the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on five or more exams. The students are Paige Amendum, Olivia Civiletti, Caroline Cook, Ryan Friedman, Yingying Luo, Julia Pelesko, Kimmie Riordan, Shiyun Tang, Jack Warren, and Marcus Whipple.

Eight students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more exams. The students are: Natalie Adams, Andrew Beer, Emily Boyer, Chiian Ip, Fiona Jicha, Miles Petersen, Megan Snyder, and Leah Somerville.

Eighteen students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by receiving scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams. The AP Scholars are: Lillian Allingham, Paige Bobka, Sebastian Conde, Madeline Cooper, Sheyi Edeki, Leah Fritz, Kate Fulmer, Thomas Gluodenis, Claire Jester, Kendya Kennedy, Brendan Lamey, Zoe LaMonte, Gladys Mbugua, Seungmuk Oh, Serena Rubin, Meriwether Seder-Burnaford, Robert Stafford, and Elizabeth Vander Laan.

The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program offers students the opportunity to take challenging college–level courses while still in high school, and to receive college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP Exams. The exams are administered in May of each year.
