Cook and Friedman Selected for Delaware Youth Leadership Network

Caroline Cook and Ryan Friedman have been chosen to be a part of the Delaware Youth Leadership Network (DYLN) class of 2016.
Founded in 2012, DYLN (http://www.dyln.net) selects Delaware students to participate in a nine-month mentoring and skill development program during their junior year of high school.

The group, which meets monthly, will allow scholars the opportunity to hear motivational speeches from community leaders in Delaware, dealing with such topics as leadership skills, networking, community service, entrepreneurship, technology, and citizenship. The students will also have the chance to hone their own public speaking and communication skills through group exercises. The program includes a mentoring component, in which students have the chance to interact with community leaders who serve as mentors. Graduates of DYLN also have the opportunity to remain involved with the program during their senior year, as peer mentors.

“As the DYLN program grows, the number of highly qualified candidates also increases which makes the selection process more competitive each year,” wrote DYLN founder and chairperson Margaret O’Dwyer. “Students should feel proud of this accomplishment.”

Congratulations to Caroline and Ryan!
