Sanford Boys’ Soccer wins the DISC Championship for the first time since 2014 with a thrilling 1-0 victory!
The Sanford Boys’ Soccer team has made history, clinching the Delaware Independent School Conference (DISC) Championship for the first time in over a decade. With a thrilling 1-0 victory over St. Andrew’s School on October 25, 2025, the Warriors secured their place in Sanford’s storied athletic history.
The game’s decisive moment came with just five minutes left on the clock, as Griffin Amendum '27 delivered the game-winning goal off a perfectly placed assist from Tanner Murray '26. The team’s defense held strong, ensuring the shutout and sealing the victory.
This marks Sanford’s eighth DISC Championship title, adding to their previous wins in 1979, 1980, 1983, 1987, 1990, 1999, and 2014. The 2025 team’s journey to the championship was marked by determination, culminating in an 11-2-2 regular-season record. We look forward to their return to the state tournament in the following weeks.
