Boys' Swim Team Places 3rd at States

Congratulations to Sanford Swimming on a fantastic season! The boys' team won their first DISC Conference title in early February. This past weekend, they placed third at states, the highest team placement in program history.
Collectively, Sanford broke five school records, earned five podium finishes, and had 14 finishes in the top 16.

Carson Kalish ’25 broke school records in all of his events. He placed 2nd in the 100 butterfly and 3rd in the 200 IM. MJ Hoban ’24 placed 2nd in the 100 breaststroke and broke his school record to secure 4th place in the 50 freestyle. Braden Powell '24 placed 10th in the 100 freestyle, and Brady Bollman '24 placed 10th in the 50 freestyle. These four boys were a part of our record-breaking medley and freestyle relays, where they placed 3rd and 2nd, respectively.

Julian Nesbit '25 placed 14th in the 100 breaststroke and, along with Morgan Wilson ’24, earned the Crown Trophy award for their outstanding athletic and academic achievements.

The boys 200 free relay (Hudson Moran ’26, Andrew Timmons ’23, Kunal Viswanathan ’23, and Jonathan Belair’ 26) all dropped time and secured individual 50 free personal bests to a great place in the final, earning essential points to contribute to the team’s 3rd place finish.
MJ Hoban '24 and Carson Kalish '25 had been named 1st Team Delaware All-State.

On the girls’ team, the medley and 400 free relays (Molly Loughlin ’25, Morgan Kalish ’27, Julia Caldwell ’26, and Audrey Everett’ 23) dropped significantly to place 13th and 8th.

Morgan Kalish ’27 placed 12th and 9th in the 200 IM and 500 free, and Julia Caldwell ’26 placed 15th in the 100 free.

Congratulations to Coach Lucy Benson ’13, who was named DISC Boys’ Coach of the Year.

Thank you to Coach Benson and Coach Stanchek for your amazing coaching talents and our wonderful parents for all your support!
