Sanford’s Lily Allingham Competes in Jeopardy! Teen Tournament

Sanford tenth grader Lily Allingham recently competed in the Jeopardy! Teen Tournament, held annually in Washington D.C.
Lily traveled to the nation’s capital to compete against fourteen other students from around the country during the April 10–14 taping. The winner won’t be revealed until the episode airs November 9th.

Lily qualified for the tournament by passing a rigorous set of tests and auditions. Teens interested in competing can take a timed online test which gives them fifteen seconds to type an answer to each question. Of those who pass, a random sample of about 300 are invited to audition in person in regional groups, where they take another timed test, interview, and play mock Jeopardy! games. From this group, the final fifteen—this year including Lily—are selected.

Tune in on November 9th to root for Lily and find out if she took the crown—and the $100,000 prize!
