The DYLN program offers accepted high school juniors a series of workshops, activities, motivational speakers, and mentoring opportunities that aim to prepare students of Delaware to become leaders of tomorrow. Maggie was selected for this year’s class after a rigorous application process and a personal interview. Over the next year, she and her classmates will meet once a month to interact with distinguished DYLN Mentors, who have excelled in their fields, and with former DYLN scholars who return during their senior year to act as mentors. The program will help the young scholars develop leadership skills and start to imagine aspirations for college and beyond.
“I’m pleased to have been selected,” shared Maggie. “My obvious goal, as of right now, from the DYLN program is to use the experiences to help prepare me for the application and interview processes required to get accepted into college. I am also excited about meeting new people.”
Congratulations to Maggie. We know she will be an excellent representative of Sanford at the DYLN meetings, and we look forward to hearing more from her next fall about her experiences as a DYLN scholar.
