Sanford School Counseling & Learning Services

Sanford School offers a caring community in which to grow. We are dedicated to the social-emotional wellness and holistic development of all students.

Students benefit when their mental health is a priority. Sanford counselors foster resilience, self-awareness, and social-emotional well-being, and they help equip students with the tools to manage challenges.

A resource to students, parents, and faculty, school counselors:
  • Meet with students individually and in small groups
  • Act as a conduit between outside therapeutic providers and the school
  • Make professional referrals, as necessary
  • Develop and implement educational student and parent programming
  • Offer parents and faculty guidance and information on child and adolescent development
  • Assist students and families who are navigating extended absences
  • Conduct transition work with students
  • Coordinate the work of the advisory system
