Poetry Out Loud Competition 2023
A long-standing Sanford tradition, the Upper School Poetry Out Loud Finals were conducted on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. After a successful performance last year, Perrin Brown '25 claimed the 2023 title.
Congratulations to our Poetry Out Loud finalists! Nine upper school students showcased their talents in front of the entire Upper School assembly. A panel of judges evaluated their performances based on accuracy, interpretation, stage presence, voice, and articulation. We were treated to exceptional performances from all of the grade representatives. Let's give a round of applause to our winner, Perrin Brown '25, who will proudly represent Sanford at the state competition in January.
We also want to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of the runners-up, third place Abby Krape '26 and second place Siobhan Lucey '25.
Our grade winners and representatives are Amelia Xu '24, Will Giardina '27, Kate McCrea '27, Andrew Kaser '25, Adam Brownell '24, and Jordan Perkins '26.
The event was further enhanced by musical performances by Aidan McDermott '25 and Juliet Procope '25.
