Kahlon named Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholar

Congratulations to Amanrai Kahlon '24, who was recognized as a Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholar! RegeneronSTS is the nation's oldest and most prestigious science and math competition for high school seniors.

Rai's submission, titled "Enhancing Wearable Gait-Monitoring Systems: Identifying Optimal Kinematic Inputs in Typical Adolescents," earned them the distinction of being Delaware's sole honoree!

In recognition of his achievement, he will be awarded $2000, while Sanford will also receive $2000 to support STEM activities.

The Regeneron Science Talent Search scholars were selected from 2,162 entrants from 712 high schools across 46 states, Puerto Rico, and 10 other countries – the highest number of entrants since 1969 and an increase of over 200 from 2023.

Scholars were selected for their exceptional research, leadership, community involvement, commitment to academics, creativity in scientific inquiry, and potential as STEM leaders. The 300 scholars come from 196 American and international high schools in 36 states and China.

The Regeneron Science Talent Search empowers promising young scientists to address global challenges through innovative research. This competition offers students a national platform to present new ideas and challenge conventional thinking. With a history of 102 years, this program has educated the public about scientific discoveries and identified future STEM leaders.

Regeneron has sponsored the Science Talent Search since 2017, demonstrating its commitment to supporting young scientists. Over the years, talented high school seniors have dedicated countless hours to original research projects, presenting their findings in rigorous reports resembling graduate school theses. Science Talent Search alumni have received scholarships, Nobel Prizes, Fields Medals, MacArthur Fellowships, and other prestigious awards.
