Sanford School Counseling & Learning Services

Sanford School offers a caring community in which to grow and is dedicated to the total development of students in all facets of their lives. The counseling program plays an intrinsic role in this growth.
We work to empower students to gain insights that will lead them to ever-deeper self knowledge, awareness, and understanding. Students benefit from being always mindful of their well-being and equipped with the tools to meet the modern life’s challenges.

A resource to students, parents, and faculty, school counselors:
  • Coordinate the work of the advisory system
  • Conduct transition work with students
  • Plan and implement programs that promote student growth and address developmental needs
  • Meet with students individually
  • Make professional referrals, as necessary
  • Act as a conduit between outside therapeutic providers and the school, as necessary
  • Develop and implement parent awareness programs
  • Offer parents and faculty guidance and information on child and adolescent development.
