Join us on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the historic The Creamery of Kennett Square for Blues, Brews, & BBQ: an evening of live music, delicious food, and fun, all in support of Sanford faculty and the programs that power our classrooms. Guests will enjoy live blues, craft brews, classic BBQ favorites, bidding in live and silent auctions, and a spirited paddle raise! 

This year's event features an unforgettable evening at the Creamery, with exclusive access to the entire venue–it’s ours for the night! Enjoy:

  • What can I expect at this year’s auction?

    Thanks to the hard work of our parent-run Home & School Auction Committee, you can expect an unforgettable night at the Blues, Brews, & BBQ auction, held exclusively at the historic Creamery of Kennett Square for the evening! Enjoy live blues music, house-smoked BBQ, craft brews, an open bar, and plenty of fun throughout the venue.

    Doors open at 6:00 PM to kick off a night of live and silent auctions, a spirited paddle raise, raffle items, a 50/50, a photo booth, and games like cornhole, darts, beer ring toss, and shuffleboard. Be sure to arrive on time so you don’t miss a moment!
  • Who attends the auction?

    Members of the Sanford community, friends, family, and event sponsors (21+). That means you! Even if you don’t plan to bid, it’s a great night out filled with music, food, and community.
  • Who plans and runs the auction?

    The Home & School Auction is proudly parent-planned and parent-run
  • What is the dress code for this year’s auction?

    Casual-chic with personality! Think denim, blues-inspired style, and comfortable flair–perfect for a relaxed night of music, BBQ, and fun.
  • Will food be served?

    Absolutely! Guests will enjoy a house-smoked BBQ buffet, featuring classic favorites and a variety of options to accommodate dietary needs. Plus, don’t miss The Creamery’s ice cream truck and cobbler for a sweet finish.
  • What is the bar situation?

    We’ll offer an open bar throughout the evening, featuring The FIT Collective’s signature cocktail, beer from 2SP, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • What’s parking like?

    Parking is available on a first-come basis in The Creamery parking lot, as well as overflow lots located at 455 Birch Street and an additional lot one block past The Creamery on Birch Street.
  • What accommodations are available for auction guests?

    Enjoy 10% off your auction-night stay at Artelo, an artfully decorated boutique hotel in the heart of Kennett Square, just a short walk from The Creamery. Use code SANFORDSCHOOL2026 at checkout to receive your discount.
  • How do I bid on items?

    Guests who purchase event tickets will receive an email and text with instructions to register for bidding prior to the event. Can’t attend but still want to bid? Remote bidding information will be shared as well.

  • Who does the auction benefit?

    Proceeds directly support Sanford Home & School’s initiatives, including funding professional development for Sanford faculty and staff, including conferences, workshops, and continued learning that strengthen teaching, inspire innovation, and enrich the student experience. By investing in our educators, the auction helps ensure Sanford continues to live our motto: No Talent Lies Latent.
  • Do I need a physical ticket to attend?

    No physical ticket is required, but tickets must be purchased in advance. You can purchase tickets online, and your name will be on our check-in list at the door. Walk-ins cannot be accommodated. If you plan to bid from home only, no ticket purchase is required–additional details will be shared ahead of the event.
  • How can I get involved?

    There are many ways to support the auction! You can:
    • Become an event sponsor (as a family or business)
    • Donate an item, service, or experience for bidding
    • Participate in the paddle raise
