Sanford School, a private school for preschool through high school students, buzzes with activity year round. Many events are open to the public, and we invite you to join us on our Hockessin, Delaware, campus to experience our exceptional programs.

    PSAT / SAT (11th- and 12th-grade students)

    All juniors will take the PSAT and seniors who signed up will take the SAT.  Students will join Service Day activities (see below) after testing has concluded. Please refer to this document for specific information about the SAT & PSAT administrations. Emails were sent by College Counseling on Friday, September 25. Contact Heather Graber Stinson, Testing Coordinator and Director of College Counseling, with any questions.  

    Upper School Service Day

    Upper School will engage in an afternoon of meaningful service on Friday, October 2. Projects include participating in a community clean-up in Brandywine Park, working with organizations that help people experiencing homelessness in Delaware, and more. Please see this previous communication sent on September 15 for more details. Students will be dismissed at 2:30 PM.

    Musical Auditions

    Geipel Center - Rubin Family Auditorium - GEI-AUD
    Interested students should sign up for a 5-minute vocal audition between 9:10 AM and 2:40 PM and should plan to attend the mandatory dance audition from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Callback auditions will happen between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Students can access audition music and sign up for an audition in Geipel on the bulletin board next to Mr. Molush’s office.     Cultural Community Day

    Register by Wednesday, September 23, if you are interested in hosting a table or performing.
    Join us for our second annual Cultural Community Day celebrating our community's diverse cultures through performances and shared traditions.
     
     


    One Community, Many Colors Color Run/Walk (Cultural Community Day Run) 

     
    Saturday, October 3, 11:00 AM |$15 for ages 5-12 | $20 for ages 13+ 
    New this year to Cultural Community Day: the senior class is hosting a "One Community, Many Colors" color run/walk, with check-in at 10:00 AM and the run starting at 11:00 AM at the top of Chapel Valley.

    Upper School Shadow Day

    We invite applicants to grades 9–11 to spend a day in Sanford's Upper School. 

    Shadow Days are a great way to get a feel for Upper School life, students share their interests ahead of time and are paired with a current student host for the most authentic experience possible. 

    After connecting with their host, your child will attend Morning Meeting, four classes, enjoy a complimentary lunch, and have the opportunity to learn more about Sanford with a member of the admission team.

    Scheduled Shadow Days are: October 1, 5, 15, 20, November 2, 3, 16, December 1 and 3.

We kick Friday off with an afternoon pep rally followed by Middle School athletics, Upper School volleyball, food trucks, an Alumni Art Show Reception, and Sanford Showcase featuring performances from current students and alumni. Saturday brings Upper School field hockey and soccer games, a pancake breakfast, fun run, inflatables and yard games, alumni basketball game, Alumni Awards Ceremony, scavenger hunt, photo booth, food trucks, and the Upper School Homecoming Dance!

    Sanford Fund Parent Participation Challenge Begins

    Set your path and make an impact! The annual Sanford Fund Parent Participation Challenge brings our community together to support the Sanford experience. Help us reach 100% parent participation by winter break!     Boys' Soccer at Subaru Park

    Subaru Park
    Join us for a family and alumni tailgate! Sanford alum Alex Carrington '06, Director of Sales for the Philadelphia Union, has invited our boys' soccer program to play at Subaru Park through the Union's program for local high schools. JV plays Tower Hill at 3:30 PM on the outside field next to the stadium, followed by a tailgate with pizza and drinks at 5:00 PM in the parking lot. Varsity takes the field inside Subaru Park at 6:00 PM, and our Middle School team will play a modified game at halftime. This event is free of charge. Come cheer on the Warriors!
