WDEL has named senior soccer player Kendal Trickey “Athlete of the Week.”
Kendal's honor comes early in the Warriors' soccer season—a season in which Kendal's return following an ACL injury has helped lead the team to a 4–0 record.
When asked to share her thoughts about Kendal, Sanford Soccer Coach Heather Taylor said, "Kendal is truly a special player to coach. She leads her teammates by example with her incredible work ethic in practice and her determination to get the job done in big games. Kendal is among the best in the state with taking players on, distributing the ball, and defending. However, the skill that truly separates her from other high school players is her ability to find the ball in the air and put it in the back of the net with her head."
