Homecoming Festival Oct 16 & 17 2026
Alumni and current Sanford families are invited to campus October 16–17 for Homecoming & Reunion Weekend.
Sanford School will host Homecoming & Reunion Weekend on Friday, October 16, and Saturday, October 17. All alumni and their families are invited back to campus for two days of athletics, performances, and time with current students, and classes ending in 1 and 6 will gather for off-campus reunion celebrations.
Friday, October 16

Friday begins with alumni check-in at the Sports Center at 11:00 AM, followed by Day in the Life sessions*, where alumni spend time in class with current students, and an alumni lunch.
The afternoon brings a pep rally on the Quad, Middle School games across campus, and volleyball against Concord High School in the Struthers Family Sports Center.
In the evening, food trucks will be in the Sports Center top parking lot from 5:00–7:00 PM, with dessert trucks at the Geipel entrance from 6:00–8:00 PM. The Artists Collective at Sanford, an art show featuring work by alumni, alumni faculty, and current faculty, opens at 6:30 PM in the Geipel Center for Performing Arts. The night closes with Sanford Showcase at 7:30 PM in Rubin Family Auditorium, with performances by current students and alumni.
Saturday October 17
Saturday opens at 8:00 AM with a pancake breakfast in the Sports Center, the Thelma Miller Memorial Alumni Basketball Game, and a One Mile Fun Run on Humphreys Field marking 50 years of Sanford Cross Country.
Throughout the day, visitors can participate in our campus-wide scavenger hunt, stop by the Spirit Store, Alumni Archives in Kidder Hall, the In Memoriam display in Chapel Valley, and a photo booth. Food trucks return to the Sports Center top parking lot from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM.
At 10:00 AM, Sanford will honor this year's award recipients in Rubin Family Auditorium:

The Sanford Warriors take the field later in the day, with varsity field hockey against Wilmington Christian School at 11:00 AM and soccer against Mount Sophia (JV, 12:00 PM) and Tatnall (varsity, 1:30 PM).
Student ambassadors will lead a guided campus tour* at 11:30 AM, and the Family Fun Zone on the Lower School playground runs from 9:00 AM–2:00 PM.

Reunion classes will continue the celebration off campus at gatherings in Wilmington, Kennett Square, and the surrounding area, while the Class of 1976 will meet in the du Pont Library. Reunion details and class organizer contacts are available on the Homecoming page.
