Sanford Parents Honor Teachers
An island themed Teacher Appreciation Luncheon was hosted by Sanford's Home & School Association during a recent In-Service Day.
Magically transformed into a pirate’s lair, Quigley Dining Hall was filled with happy guests, Caribbean cuisine prepared by Budd Cohen, and lots of “pirate’s booty.” Some attendees even won a treasure chest of goodies during the gift basket raffle. A video and framed quotes from students were special highlights.
Committee co-chairs Joann Brophy and Thomasine Bianchi led a talented team of parent volunteers to create this event which was designed to thank Sanford educators for the exceptional program delivered to students. Committee members included Nicol Anderson, Wanda Blackwell, Jack Carey, Krista Colby, Michele Darnell, Kyle DiPietro, Chrissy Dodd, Blair Fleischmann, Jill Grant, Jacqueline Leo, Lyssa Melorod, Kate Rosenthal, Michelle Schlussel and Andi Sokoloff.
Sanford's faculty and staff members are grateful to the committee and to the many parents whose generous contributions made the luncheon possible.
Ahoy—a good time was indeed had by all!
