Albright & Yearsley Hall Expansion

Albright and Yearsley Hall currently accommodate 224 students from preschool through grade 4. In the 2015-16 school year that number was 161. Over the past decade, we've experienced an impressive 39% increase in enrollment in the Lower School, bringing Albright and Yearsley Hall to full capacity.

For these reasons, a significant portion of the $10.5M Exceptionally Sanford Campaign will be allocated to a renovation and expansion of the lower school building. Renovating some of our existing lower school classrooms and spaces, along with expanding the building's footprint with a new two-story addition on the north end of Albright, will provide us with the necessary programming space to accomodate this recent enrollment growth, and allow us to maintain our class size limit of 16 students per homeroom. Groundbreaking for this expansion is set for June 2026 and will take approximately two school years to complete.

A strong elementary education lays the crucial groundwork for future learning and development. It's the foundation upon which students build knowledge, critical thinking, and an understanding of our world. These early education years foster a love of learning that will benefit our students throughout their lives. Our school motto, No Talent Lies Latent, inspires both our mission and guiding principles. Giving our students and faculty the optimal physical space they need to pursue their talents ensures we are fulfilling this mission.

Like other projects undertaken on campus, work on the Lower School will accomplish maximum utilization and aesthetic appeal with a responsible investment of money. At a total cost of $3M, this renovation/expansion project will
  • add five new teaching spaces,
  • enlarge the nurse's office into a nursing suite,
  • and create flexible space for learning support and specialist teachers.
